Jury Criteria
Assessment
The jury will award points in the 4 different competition aspects, each counting an equal 25% of the total.
Situational Awareness
The jury will in this competition category assume the role of a remote ship operator ready to intervene in emergency situations. They will award points based on the following criteria:
The remote operator has all information necessary should they have to intervene.
The remote operator can quickly gain a understanding of the situation the vessel is in
The interface communicates the autonomous system's situational understanding and the vessel's planned path
The interface isn't unnecessarily cluttered and can be intuitively understood
Docking
The jury will award points based on the following criteria:
The vessel successfully arrives at a full stop at the designated section of the dock.
The vessel chooses an efficient and safe path to arrive at the dock. This includes avoiding collisions or near-misses with stationary obstacles.
The vessel's speed is reasonable with respect to its proximity to the dock, and large deaccelerations upon docking are avoided.
Maneuvering
The jury will award points based on the following criteria:
The vessel successfully reaches the location designated in the scenario.
The vessel maneuvers in accordance to COLREGs and in a fashion that is predictable and safe for other vessels.
The vessel finds efficient paths from its initial position to the target location, while maintaining a safe distance to both land, stationary obstacles and moving obstacles.
